Paint Stash 2002

Here’s a couple photos of my paint stash circa 2002. Painter’s Touch, Rusto, American Accents, Krylon, some discount Red Devil. A lot of paint was found from time to time at closeout stores like Big Lots. Also, in 2002 or 03 Krylon and Rusto discontinued a lot of colors and they were cheap. I’ve also included a photo of the Krylon section in Wack-Mart from 2003ish (photo supplied from the archives)…Check the prices.

Water Co Buildings: Part 2

This SUFR piece done with mostly scrap cans ran from 2003 until about 2019. I believe it has a Sail Blue Rusto outline and 3D and an unsual silver cloud. To the right of it was a very early NOR fill-in, who began writing NURO shortly after. Here are some photos of the piece’s aging process. These cinderblock buildings in the Gorge have been buffed and repainted a few times, but this one had a good stretch. The addition of the chainlink fence helped preserve it as well. Eso & Muk: Beyond Tuckpoint

The side of this historic building collapsed in 2022. The Eso and Muk throws from the early 2000s had a long happy life and a nice view of the liquor store and Purina. (1. 2013 2. 2020 3-6. 2022 7-8 Nearby throws still running today, pic from 2021.)

Kwiz Wellness Check and Study

The only known untouched Kwiz piece in existence is still holding it down in 2026, and turns 31yrs old this year. Its future is questionable as its location becomes more accessible to the public. Enjoy it while it lasts. Also, I’ve included an old master study of the piece from 2023.

Laundry Building

This former mid-century built laundry and supply building has been approved for demolition by the city. I inquired about permission to making it a legal wall several years ago, but no traction was made. I might try again. The building has nice railroad related murals on the the front and side by artist Pamela Bliss, and on the north-side facing the railroad tracks is graffiti mostly from the early 2000s. This was also a benching spot of mine, where a lot of my freight photos and video were taken during 2002-05. After razing the building, it will become a parking lot for the city. On a positive note, maybe it will be easier to view trains from the lot, as long as they omit the chain-link fence.
